About Us

The mission of the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence is to provide quality pediatric services in a caring, progressive environment. The Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence contains 148 beds and is committed to quality through teamwork, technology and service in a child friendly, family oriented environment.

As a member of The Sierra Providence Health Network (SPHN) in El Paso, Texas, the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence continues its commitment to the children in our community and region; improving the full scope of pediatric care in El Paso. Offering the latest pediatric technologies, the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence seeks to maximize opportunities for positive outcomes through innovative treatment approaches developed specifically for children.

The Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence serves the pediatric component of the approximately 750,000 people of El Paso, Texas and the surrounding area. Being on the United States/Mexico border, there are also pediatric patients from Mexico treated at the facility. Currently, the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence sees 60% of the pediatric admissions in El Paso, and provides 97% of the pediatric oncology care for the El Paso/Southwest region.

Realizing a hospital stay can be a bit scary for our patients, we have developed four different units: Oceanville, Jungleville, Kidsville and Skyville which contain 148 beds and are dedicated to making the stay a little less frightening by offering a colorful, kid-friendly atmosphere. Our patient rooms are “pain-free”; all procedures are completed in treatment rooms.

The Regional Children’s Hospital staff also receives specialized training in the treatment of children. Many members of the nursing staff have received Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALs) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. These health professionals are part of a team that includes pediatric sub-specialists in cardiology, genetics, infectious diseases, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pathology, radiology, urology, nephrology, pulmonology, surgery, oncology, hematology, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and neonatology.

From the deep sea, to the wild jungle, to the magic of a toy box, the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence brings together the experience and technology today’s pediatric patients require. It is those special touches that truly set us apart for kids and parents alike. Whether it’s a favorite toy by their bed or a nurse’s understanding smile – that’s the touch of magic that the Regional Children’s Hospital at Providence creates.
